Following
are the yoga poses or asanas that are beneficial
in High Blood Pressure or Hypertension:-
Shoulder
Stretches:
Shoulder Stretches are great in relieving
stress and tension on your shoulders, as
well as your entire upper back. When practiced
regularly the benefits are easily visible.
Bidalasana
or the Cat Pose:
The Cat Pose teaches you to initiate movement
from your center and to coordinate your
movement and breath. These are two of the
most important themes in Yoga practice.
Keep in mind that the Cat Pose may not be
advisable if you have any chronic or recent
back pain or injury.
Sukhasana
or the Easy Pose:
This is one of the most classic Meditative
Poses and is usually performed after doing
the Corpse Pose or the Shavasna. The Easy
Pose helps in straightening the spine, slowing
down metabolism, promoting inner tranquility,
and keeping your mind still.
Ardha
Matsyendrasana or the Half Spinal Twist:
If done properly, the Half Spinal Twist
lengthens and strengthens the spine. It
is also beneficial for your liver, kidneys,
as well as adrenal glands. Practice this
Yoga Pose under the supervision of a Yoga
instructor. This posture is known to bring
about an increase in the flow of blood to
these organs.
Pavanamuktasana
or the Wind Relieving Pose:
The term Pavanamuktasana comes from the
Sanskrit word 'pavana' which means air or
wind and 'Mukta' which means freedom or
release. The Wind Relieving Pose works mainly
on the digestive system. Specifically, it
helps in eliminating excess gas in the stomach.
Anuloma
Viloma:
Anuloma Viloma is also called the Alternate
Nostril Breathing Technique. In this Breathing
Technique, you inhale through one nostril,
retain the breath, and exhale through the
other nostril. This breathing technique
helps to bring about the fresh intake of
oxygen into the body and makes it available
for all the structures present in the body.
Thus it brings about the enrichment of body
with fresh oxygen. This even helps in the
regulation of High blood pressure.
Yoga
Nidra:
Yoga Nidra is also known as the psychic
sleep. This process helps remove physical,
emotional and mental strains very easily
and effectively. It also helps focus the
mind and removes negative elements. This
Yoga Nidra is easy to practice and provides
you with results in short time. Even half
hourly practice brings about excellent results
in High blood pressure or High BP.
